Boone is a plains town located about twenty miles east of Pueblo, Colorado. With a a population of 339 in 2010 there isn’t too much activity is this rural statutory town. It’s included in the Pueblo, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area.
During the Pikes Peak Gold Rush a man by the name of Albert Gallatin Boone settled Booneville, which would later be shortened Boone. He served as the town’s original postmaster and had a short stint as agent to the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes. Located in Pueblo County at 4,465 feet, the town was incorporated in September 22nd, 1956.
