The public bus system in Loveland is named COLT, which stands for the City of Loveland Transit. Riders may take RTD buses to Denver and then transfer to the area’s FLEX bus system to go to neighboring communities such as Fort Collins and Longmont.

From any of the five Loveland COLT buses, you can get a transfer to FLEX. These transfers are good for one hour after they are given.

FLEX offers regional service from the Fort Collins South Transit Center to Boulder, stopping in Longmont, Loveland, and Berthoud along the way. No COLT-issued single-ride tickets or discount cards will be honored by FLEX. Please be aware that you will need to pay the RTD fee if you take FLEX to Longmont and transfer to RTD.

The following COLT passes are valid for direct FLEX boarding: ADA Annual, Senior Annual, Trainer Pass, Adult Annual, Student Annual, City of Loveland Employee Pass, 10-Day, 20-Day, and monthly passes. Only official service animals are allowed on the bus; emotional support animals don’t fit into that category.

Passes and Fares

The office is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and takes cash, checks, and major credit cards to purchase bus passes. You can buy them on the bus or at 105 West 5th Street, Loveland, CO 80537. Bus drivers don’t carry coin change, so you will need exact amounts if you purchase on the bus.

In the event that a pass is lost or stolen, they will give each traveler one free replacement card. Any further repairs or replacements will incur a fee.
