The Inferno Mountain Coaster is a year-round thrill ride in the southwest corner of Colorado. Purgatory Resort is home to both this exciting mountain coaster and an alpine slide.
Soak in the stunning views of Purgatory Resort and the surrounding San Juan Mountains. There are many twists and turns on this fast descent down the hill through the woods. You’ll climb a total of 300 feet of vertical to the top of this 4,000-foot-long track, 40 feet over the ground.
Your speed is controllable by using a hand brake, and there is an anti-collision programming. Up to two passengers (300 pounds combined max) can ride together in one car, both of whom wear seat belts. Please wear close-toe shoes.
Requirements:
- Must be 3 years old and 36″ or taller.
- Children 9 years old and under must ride as a passenger with a driver 16+ years old.
- Children 9+ years and at least 52″ tall can ride alone.
- All adults must ride alone.
- Max combined or single rider weight can not exceed 300lbs
The Inferno Mountain Coaster operates during select times and days throughout the year. Scheduled winter season dates run from late November to mid-January. It can close based on bad weather and track conditions.
