Good Times Adventures Snowmobiling
December 20, 2017 by Laura W

[Snowmobile tour in Breck. Photo: Good Times Adventures] For over 30 years, Good Times Adventures has given Breckenridge residents and visitors the exhilarating time of their lives, racing across 40 miles of trails in some of the most gorgeous terrain in the state. Summit County’s only snowmobile and dogsled touring company is easily accessed from downtown Breckenridge. Good Times will even ferry you for free from select locations.

For supreme snowmobiling comfort and safety, Good Times offers state-of-the-art Polaris INDY LXT snowmobiles equipped with electric starters, hand warmers, and back rests. The fleet is replaced every season. You can even borrow snowsuits and boots at no cost. The ratio of guests to enthusiastic and experienced guides is small, maximizing personal attention.

Get a great feel for the speed and power of the ride beginning at the 2:44 mark:

Here’s another good video that quickly summarizes the expectations.

The Good Times Classic Tour

This two-hour adventure begins by instilling confidence in the riders with a bit of instruction from the guide followed by a practice session in an open meadow. Hit the trails and wind through the Swan River Valley, climb up to the Georgia Pass, and survey the view from 11,585 feet atop the Continental Divide.

The Extended Tour

A bit longer at three hours, this is for the diehards who yearn for a more extensive exploration of the trails, passes, and backcountry. This tour leaves once daily at 9am. Call for pricing and availability.

Handling Happy Huskies

This beautiful video provides a good taste of the interactive experience guests enjoy while running an eager team of Siberian Huskies on the trails:

Good Times’ winter dog sledding trip is one hour and 6 miles of full tilt fun for up to six guests who engage in a relay of sorts through the Swan River Valley. Take turns running the dogs, riding in the dogsled, and joining the guide on the smaller sleigh. You can grab some thrilling photos and videos of your Rocky Mountain tour. $90 adults, $50 children age 8 and under.

The Dogs of Summer

The Husky fun does not stop when the snow is gone! Longtime partner of Good Times, Snow Caps Sled Dogs, offers several ways to interact with their 150+ dogs and learn about mushing.

Yard Tour

Take a 45-minute guided tour of the kennel with time for dog and puppy petting and an intro to sledding without actually getting in the sled. $25 per person, ages 3 and over.

Cart Tour

Spend an hour and a half meeting the dogs and learning about the sport and kennel operations. Follow up with a team of Huskies pulling you in a cart on dry land. $65 adults, $45 children age 3 and over.

Scooter Tour

For those coordinated folks who are in good shape, here’s a chance to ride through Swan Valley with a pair of sled dogs pulling you on a scooter. Experienced bikers preferred! Approximately 90 minutes. $75 per person, ages 16 and over.

Snow Caps Dog Classes

Bring your own dog to “bikejoring” class where he will be harnessed and paired up with a lead Husky for three hours of trail riding. What a great opportunity to blow off some August steam for high energy, athletic and working dogs.
