Alpine Adventures Dogsledding offers fun hands-on tours perfect for the whole family. Guide your own dog sled in one of several tours: one-hour group tour, one-hour tagsled tour, two-hour dogsled tour. Welcome to ages 3+, tours run every day of the season, snow or shine, and prices vary according to the tour selected.
Located in high-elevation Leadville, Alpine Adventures is central to the resorts of Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Frisco, and Keystone.
Group Tours
Group tours consist of six adult seats per dogsled tour. One child is permitted in the sled basket with another adult, in addition to the six. Two people ride the dog sled at one time, while the other guests are pulled by a snowmobile-guided sleigh. Throughout the tour, they stop and switch drivers. Multiple dogsled trips are offered per day, with about an hour of trail time.
Tagsled Tours
Tagsled tours can accommodate three adults and one child or two adults and two children. Two sleds are pulled by a bigger group of 10-12 dogs. The guide drives the first sled with one rider, while the back sled has one person driving and one riding. This tour is all dog-powered and a great way to enjoy the outdoors.
Kennel Tours
The narrated kennel tour lasts 45 minutes and goes over everything to do with Alpine Adventures Dogsledding. They cover the rescue of the dogs, Alaskan vs Siberia Huskies, kennel set up, training, diet, and tour stories.
