Red Bull’s Schlittentag was a blast this year! It was held on Saturday, April 2nd.
Team “Party Animals” took home the prize for the most creative. They all made it down the slope in one piece due to the plush and cuddly nature of their sled. Their sled even had a tail of red solo cups trailing behind it to fit the theme properly.

Here is a close-up of how their sled was built:
Our team “Captain Aquaholic and the Grateful Dread” didn’t place in the competition, but the experience was enough prize for us. We did crash and fall out of our sled, however, we made it down in one piece and somehow without any scratches or bruises.
We were all just grateful that our sled made it as there were many wipeouts that day. Our sled was made from two skis on both sides and a snowboard in the middle (which is what is attached to the steering wheel) with a kiddie pool on top.
The snowboard was even used the next day for some really warm snowboarding. Spring boarding is great because you don’t need a jacket, but don’t forget the sunscreen.
We also met some very courageous folks over at SummitCove Lodging, whom not only rolled with a Yeti, but also went down the slope with a blow up swan. Luckily they were not hurt, but the sound of the inflatable being popped could be heard miles away. I wonder how he could see out of that costume!
The folks over at Red Bull made us all feel safe and were incredible hosts. We will definitely be back next year for more action at Keystone’s Red Bull Schlittentag.
