Christmas Eve Torchlight Parade – Telluride, CO

During the holiday season, Telluride hosts a stunning torchlight parade tradition. At different times throughout the ski season, like on New Year’s, they light up the town for an evening of fun, with possibly the most festive parade taking place on Christmas Eve.

The Telluride Ski Resort mountain lights up each Christmas Eve as about 100 employees take to the slopes with torches in hand. Together, skiers make their way down the Telluride Trail, straight into the center of town to the “ooh’s and aah’s” of the community. The red light reflects off the snow and brings a boost of wonder, making for a lovely memory for years to come.

Crowds are traditionally out in the streets and cheering on this annual, glowing event, which takes place on Tuesday, December 24th, 2024. The stream of light and motion of the skiers is a beautiful sight to take in as you stand with family and friends on the city streets.
