Each month, in the heart of Denver’s Art District, locals and visitors can partake in the First Friday Art Walk on Santa Fe Drive. A free event, visitors can see some of the area’s most talented artists and tour different galleries. Great to attend throughout the year, during the summer, there are a plethora of activities, meaning guests should expect larger crowds.
First Friday Art Walk at Denver’s Art District
One of three First Friday art walks in the mile-high city, Denver’s First Friday Art Walk on Santa Fe is an ideal time to browse art galleries and buy a new piece for your collection. Visitors can make an evening of it by listening to live music, grabbing a meal and drinks at one of the local food trucks, or shopping at one of the many independent stores that line the street.
The First Friday Art Walk hosts events that span from 13th Ave all the way down to Alameda and from Inca to Kalamath. However, most of the action between 5th and 11th on Santa Fe. Around 20,000 people attend this event, so it’s often best to take the light rail, which has a stop at 10th and Osage, a short walk away.
In August, Santa Fe is shut down from 7th to 12th Avenue to allow space for an extra special event. For 2022, the first Friday dates are January 7, February 4, March 4, April 1, May 6, June 3, July 1, August 5, September 2, October 7, November 4, and December 2.
