If you’re longing for an old-fashioned Christmas, look no further than Gold Camp Christmas Weekend in Cripple Creek. Festivities begin in early November and run on select days through December.
From TBD 2025 (last event: Thursday to Saturday, December 12th to 14th, 2024), enjoy a slow drive through a lighted wonderland. Turn on your favorite Christmas tunes, sip some hot chocolate, and enjoy a self-guided tour through the extravagant light display.
The holiday season will be kicked off in style with the nightly Gold Camp Christmas Holiday Headframe Lighting. It’s followed by a Winter Wonderland experience every weekend throughout the holiday season at the Cripple Creek District Museum.
Giant headframes still standing from the town’s 1890s gold mining days light up the evening sky with holiday ornaments as large as 20 feet tall. Move slowly. Take in the crisp, mountain air and sing Christmas carols at the top of your lungs until you find yourself full of old-fashioned Christmas cheer.
