Durango’s Noel Night had a tragic beginning in 2002 as a response to a wildfire that had burned in and around town, impacting local and independent businesses. Its purpose was to raise up and support community businesses during the holiday season that were devastated by the fires and lack of patronage for much of the year’s fire season.
Now, 20 years later, the Durango community still comes together to celebrate local business and participate in the largest Christmas party of the season. It’s a tradition that you won’t want to miss if you find yourself lucky enough to be nestled in the San Juan Mountains during the Christmas holidays.
This year’s event takes place on TBD or canceled indefinitely, lasting all day until 9 pm. It features more than 50 downtown merchants at the event. It’s being set up by Beads and Beyond, the founders.
Noel Night is not only the largest shopping night of the year but a staple for promoting businesses and spreading holiday cheer with holiday treats, decorations, music, and new friends around every corner. It’s a terrific opportunity for locals and visitors alike to get into the holiday spirit and enjoy a good old-fashioned Colorado Christmas in the Rockies.
