Paonia Cherry Days is considered one of the longest-running community festivals in Colorado, held annually since 1947. Apart from showcasing a bunch of things you can do with cherries, the event is packed with activities that the whole town will enjoy.
With a parade, beer garden, and royalty crowning, guests can get into the festive spirit. And for those with a sweet tooth, try the cherry pit spitting contest and cherry baking challenge. Held over the Fourth of July weekend in downtown Paonia, this year’s 80th annual event runs from Friday to Saturday, July 3rd to 4th, 2026.
