The 9th annual Pond Hockey Classic is one of the winter highlights of Grand Lake, Colorado. Experience ice hockey in its truest fashion every February on Colorado’s largest natural lake, Grand Lake.
This year’s ice hockey tournament is held on Saturday, January 31st, 2026, for adults, and Sunday, February 1st, 2026, for youth. Registration opens on December 1st, 2025. The natural, 507-acre Grand Lake is located right next to downtown Grand Lake, making it a convenient and fun place to play.
Adult and Youth 3×3 Ice Hockey Tournaments
ADULT TOURNAMENT — 60 teams will be competing 3×3 on the 8 all-natural ice rinks on the frozen Grand Lake. Teams are divided into three divisions, ensuring friendly and fair competition. The puck drop is at 9 am on Saturday for the Adults.
$500 in prizes is offered for adults in each division. Bring the kids and dogs for this unique winter event in Grand County.
YOUTH TOURNAMENT — The youth 3×3 tournament on Sunday features 4 divisions, open to ages 9 to 17 years old. Puck drop is 9 am as well.
A couple of weeks later, in February, Silverthorne hosts the larger Pabst Colorado Pond Hockey Tournament.
