With views of Raton Pass hovering to the southwest of town, Tyrone is an unincorporated plains community that’s been long forgotten. It’s all but abandoned today, with just a few residences making up the unincorporated community in Southeast Colorado.
Tyrone resides at an elevation of 5,541 feet in Las Animas County. There was a Tyrone Post Office running from 1929 to 1968. Today the Model Post Office provides mail services for Tyrone.
