Dove Creek is a western Colorado statutory town with a population of 735 people in 2010. The water way, Dove Creek, flows by town, giving the community its name.

The town resides at an elevation of 6,843 feet in Dolores County. It’s the county seat and most populated town in the county. The Dolores River flows to the west of town offering fishing and exception whitewater rafting during its short season. It’s also nicknamed the “Pinto Bean Capital of the World.”
