The town resides at an elevation of 6,843 feet in Dolores County. It’s the county seat and the ost populated town in the county. The Dolores River flows to the west of town offering fishing and exceptional whitewater rafting during its short season. It’s also nicknamed the “Pinto Bean Capital of the World.”
