Johnson Village is a tiny truck stop town that’s essentially part of Buena Vista. It lies at intersection of Highway 285 and 24, only a few miles south of BV. The 2010 census recorded 246 residents.
The main strip of Johnson Village features several retail shops and restaurants. Most of the economy is based on activities in the nearby Arkansas River, notably rafting expeditions. Also on visitors passing through town. The larger commerce can be found just north in Buena Vista.
Browns Canyon National Monument – The Arkansas River flows by on the east side of town, which brings people to whitewater raft the nearby Browns Canyon. There are a number of whitewater outfitters that have shops in town.
