Located just 25 miles northeast of Downtown Denver, Lochbuie, Colorado (lok-BOO-ee) is a growing community of more than 7300 people. It’s a statutory town straddling two counties, Adams and Weld.
In 2010 the population was only 4,726, so it has grown nearly an estimated 3,000 additional residents in 10 years. People appreciate the affordability but still great access to downtown and hot spots in Northern Colorado like Fort Collins.
The elevation is 5,020 feet and consists of plains and prairie landscape. The town got it start in the 1960s as an upscale trailer park known as Spacious Living Mobile Home Park. It was called Space City for a while. In May 1974 the town was incorporated as Lochbuie.
The country of Scotland has a place called Lochbuie, Mull, where this Colorado community picked its name. Visit Lochbuie and the other interesting towns that comprise Weld and Adams counties.
